This is the third book in the extremely popular Cherub series. Our heroin James Adams is sent on his hardest mission yet, to go undercover in one of the world’s most secure prisons, The Arizona Max, befriend an inmate and then escape out! This book captivates you from start to finish with the plot twisting and turning so you never know what will happen next!
I really enjoyed this book as although the language was quite basic; it was still cleverly written in a style to please all ages. It’s encouraged me to read more books similar to this and I hope to read the rest of the series.
My favourite character was Lauren, James younger sister. She was very calm when in challenging situations and was very mature throughout the book. She acted as a guide for her older brother James and advised him in difficult situations.
My only criticism would be that the plot sometimes got confusing with so many characters’ and the scene changing quite quickly. This is compared to the previous books that were not as complex.
My favourite setting was the cell and prison where James pretended to be an inmate. Although it was a very rough and a hard place to live, it was portrayed very well, and was exactly how I’d imagine a prison full of murders would be like!
Overall I would rate this book a four and a half out of five as it was gripping from start to finish.
